I have to say and ask -- we're all in this together, right?

We are here in the forums to find out how to use the software to use flash as the mechanism to display our panos --

so I have to ask -- which are the best threads to read?

some of you I think have combed through the majority of the postings and found some really cool tidbits of info that have helped you do some great stuff -- so may i ask --

can you post some links as to which threads are important to read?

for example how do i fade from one pano to another in the same browser?

some of you are doing this and I can't seem to figure this out --

can someone post some info on how this done?

are there any web sites out there that would be of interest for me to figure out how to use this software?

many thanks,

Hi Seth:

Well, these forums are a great place to start... ;)

For your transitions between panoramas, you have to look no further than the structure provided to you by FPP itself. In the documentation which comes with the download/email (in the tutorials folder), check out Hotspot Plugin and/or Using Plugins pages. These will provide you a lot of information about the functions, movements and transitions you can make -- all without having to open Flash itself.

Using the example XML files which come with FPP as a guide, you can expand on them by "viewing source" of presentations you like, and seeing how other folks configure their XML. Try things out yourself, too... :)

Seth,

You may be trying to fly too quickly. There really is no good substitute to reading Denis documentation. It is very long and boring with many Ah-Ha! moments as a technique or method is revealed, but you have to understand the system to work with it at the sophistication level you seem to want.

Once you have done that check out the xml files for sites you like, as Patrick wrote. Sometimes people post direct links to their XML. But once you read Denis's tutorial you will understand the naming convention and how to download them directly yourself (starting with the html for the web page).

You won't understand the XML until you have read Denis' documentation. There just is no shortcut. Even then lots will be confusing until you work with it a while. When you get stuck, search the forums and/or ask here and you will find a wealth of help.

If you want to use FPP to its full potential, this is the path. Once you do, you may have a hard time accepting the limitations of any other system :D
