View Full Version : How to define hotspots seperately in different scenarios
Hi, FPP fellows:
In my application we have many scenarios, and each scenario contains interactive hotspots. Rather than defining the hotspots in a big xml files, is any a way to define those hotspots in the individual panorama scenario? It would be appreciated if someone can show such example as I believe to define hotspots in the separate scenarios would be a better way to increase the maintainability of the application.

First off, I am not at all sure what a "scenario" is in your usage, but I think it means an individual panorama in a collection of linked panoramas.... If so, then, you can load a new xml file whenever you use the loadPano command:
loadPano(?panoName=images/pano2&xml_file=xml/xmlFile2)
In fact, probably whatever "scenario" means, you can make adjust the above to solve the problem.

Not a direct reply, but in QuickTime VR files it's possible to include a "hotspot" track. If FPP could be upgraded with the ability to decode the location (size, shape...) of these kind of hotspots, then hotspots embedded directly in the panorama could be used (in contrast to having their co-ordinates defined in an XML file).
Thanks for the reply. However I find when use LoadPano(?panoName=images/pano2&xml_file=xml/xmlFile2) the hotspots defined in the xml file wont take effect, even though the other components such as autorotator will work. Very strange ... I am wondering wether it is anything to do with the global tag in hot spot definition?

Are you using hotspots version 2.2? Any early version will not reload the xml, but v. 2.2 should....
Maybe someone here who sets up their tours that way can confirm.

Sorry, i'm new, can you explain me better this?:
loadPano(?panoName=images/pano2&xml_file=xml/xmlFile2)
Should i change something with the name of the pano linked?
Or
Can you make an example to link two or more panoramas each other where there is a link in the first one to go to the second one and the other way round?
Thank you
