Hello,

At first, bravo for your player, could you tell me what's the best size for have a good quality and a little time to charge my panos with the player.

I put an exemple here : http://www.panoramic-360.info/flash/artschapelles07.htm

I think, i hope that the quality is "good" but the timelaps seems to be so long, do you have an idea, how i can have quality and timelaps (chargement) more speed ?

Mes excuses for my bad english, i hope that you understand me.

Thank you for your rйponse.

Hi Stйphane:

It's always a matter of trade-offs between image quality & size of panorama (both in pixels and in KB)... :-)

At http://cheathamlane.net I'm using cube faces from 1500x1500 to about 1900x1900. JPG compression is from 60 to 80, depending on the panorama. Each cube face is somewhere from 300kb to ~500kb.

I decided that people would either need a fast connection, or have patience! ;-)

(chargement = loading?)

That panorama is really nice, by the way. Is that art painted on the walls, or painted in on the cube faces? Either way, it's very interesting.

Cheers

I produce 1500x1500 cube faces with medium jpeg compression (30) in Photoshop.

You can see what they look like here www.lookaroundcornwall.com I've recently switched everything from QuickTime to FPP and I'm very pleased with the results.

Depending on the content, this results in file sizes ranging from 50KB to 400KB. The less detail there is, the more highly the image compresses at the same quality setting so the up face, which is usually full of sky, tends to be much smaller. Overall the six faces tend to come out at between 1-2MB. Other than the sizw of your pano i think you should look at changing the parameters that control the inertia. The whole things moves pretty fast and takes an age to stop which I find a bit off-putting. Could just be me though :)
