The book is nearly ready for service but it will not be possible to change the thread's title once it is posted and I didn't want to start a new thread again.
Right, I am really nearly ready to let the book go, I just need a few more days, this sort of thing needs a webpage too..
well, I do have a webpage actually: http://pano-flip-book.com/
check the link - you will see the presentation about what the book can do.
I hope you all will like it!
and thanks for the posts and mails, I needed this, this book is taking me so much time...
------------
Denis, I hope you will read this post, I am not sure how your FPP licence is according to the book, there will a standard version that will use the player but without possibility to edit FPP's xml - can I include in the book's files pano.swf file and other files that are needed? Of course the FPP context menu is in every version of the book.

Really good stuff.
The only thing I would try to figure out is how to use the magnifier to return while the panorama is loading.
I had to wait 2 minutes for the panorama to completely load to continue using the flip book.

the problem is not the book, but FPP, FPP is designed this way that once panorama is loading it needs to finish loading, "I stood on my head" (I would say in polish) to overcome this when panorama is loading into page so you can turn the page and go to the next one even though panorama has not loaded yet, but when a panorama is fired when in fullscreen mode I decided to keep it the way FPP works, you should know that for a while there are 2 panoramas pano and pano2 in FPP and when you size one pano, the second doesn't size, I used this miracle on this tour: http://lookdigital.pl/kosciol_w_sarbinowie/ take a look and you will know what I mean
in the book it is up to you if you use autoPanoSwitch plugin or what weight is the panorama that loads into page and/or when the autoPanoSwitch plugin fires, but you should know yourself - nothing is good when it comes to bandwitch

Darek,
Excellent product, well presented, a real winner, IMO.
As for the delay while loading panos. You might consider pre-caching as a solution.

Hi Scott,
I did, but I decided to put more attention to preloading pages rather than panoramas, what if someone makes a book with 100 pages?
most books just show white pagies, I desided to give an option to preload a number of pages first, then load pages, then continue preloading pages till they all are preloaded (this is why the arrows next and back show after a little while when all pages are preloaded). In next versions of the book I think adding a sort of background to pagie - this could be helpfull,
comming back to panos, you could always add catch plugin, I rather not be responsible for MB being downloaded, panorama inside a page may be piece of cake if well configured for the book bearing in mind autopanoswitch will switch the panos if they are resized

I've finished work on version 1.0.
The book is ready for shipping, now I will take care of the book's webpage and set up a forum for help and support.
Here are the prices:
standard version: 20 Euro
pro verion: 35 Euro
domain version: 100 Euro
special price for photographers: pro and domain (when bought together) 50 Euro, the domain version will be issued for photographer's webpage
main differences:
standard:
book's logo + no FPP editing + you can give it to customers, but they are not allowed to edit book's xml
pro:
book's logo + full FPP editing + you can give it to customers, but they are not allowed to edit book's xml
domain:
will work on one domain only but will not have book's logo and can be loaded into another swf + you are not able to give it to customers as it is domain protected
you are not allowed to remove from context menu the book's link in any version
sorry for this language - I wanted to be short
I forgot to add - this is swf file, things are difficult to organize, at this moment the above price doesn't include future upgrades, but I think that a user who bought a book could get a new version when it's ready for a little price, I am not sure how much, maybe 5 Euro (no matter what version) - this is how I think it is going to be
you pay with paypal

Hi Darek
I look much forward to seeing your web site when it is ready. It looks like a great addition / feature to our tours, and I could imagine it would be very usable.
The only similar product I know is DTA http://www.desktopauthor.com/ but here the users are required to download a DNLreader, and that makes it all unusable. Today we cannot ask online viewers to download a plug-in that is not standard. Too many will not do it.
Regards
Morten
