I have been asked by a client if I can create a tour to playback on his Plasma/DVD that is not linked to a computer. I realise that you would not be interact with it and would have to set a path but does anyone know of a way to play this way?

Onscreen recorder worth every dime: Camtasia studio ( http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp ) Review here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/11/04/AR2009110404021.html
Use it to record your movements through the tour, you can add a sound track and produce the result in high quality for DVD distribution, and all the way to small filesize intended for youtube/similar streaming playback.

I did some of this for a client. They wanted some self-running video at
a tradeshow of some of their panos.

Fantastic, what a great idea, that's the beauty of forums like this.
Thanks for your example too izoneguy, that gives me a feel for how this can work.
If my client goes for it I'll post the finished tour up here.
Thanks again guys

Did you use Camtasia studio, I just tried it, very jerky
I used http://pano2movie.com to make this one, was going to add some together and add overlays in video editing software
I dropped it down from a 350mb .mov to a 3.4 .mp4

I use Snap Z pro for the MAC

I do a lot of PowerPoint to video and Snap Z pro has been the best
solution so far.
I don't do much with the Pano to video because clients can
run a presentation from a computer even with internet access.

It can be terrible if you haven't found the correct settings.... hundreds of MB's for a couple of minutes, with tots of your own hair all over the floor and keyboard.... a result from those frustrating moments.
Once you have found the right settings, you can save them and use again and again with good results.
Last time I used it, was after several months and a couple of re-installs, so the saved settings were gone, and I had forgotten how to get the right settings. That resulted in 8 hours going crazy.

You are correct. I usually capture at ProRes, edit and then distribute as h.264...
