I have seen this posted here before, and I have emailed the developer at his gmail account "many" times now. I have not received any word, so I thought the best thing would be to see what the community "knows" about this situation.

My boss would like for us to be able to remove the About Flash Panorama Player option in the right click menu. I have seen plugins that will do this (but not legally)

So I have seen and read that we can contact the developer and work through that with them. However for the past 3 weeks off and on we have emailed the gmail account with no response whatsoever. Not a yea, no, maybe let me get back.

Does anyone know of a better way/protocol to work through this scenario?
Depending on the price, my boss would pay additional funds so that we may remove this legally. He wants it to be harder for our competition that is not doing Panoramas, to figure out what we are doing.

Thanks for any feedback.

...I hope this help you.

I do appreciate the link. I think this is the plugin or similar to one that I have begun using. But I need to make sure we are "legal" before removing the Flash Panorama link. We of course will not do this if the developer will not allow a fee removal of this link.

Either way, we will be able to add our own links here now. Thanks for your help.

Moderator? Developer? any response...thanks.

Youґre not the first one who wld like to remove the "about fpp" but be sure everone that can use Google will find the possibilities to create tours with krpano, fpp or pano2vr within minutes. So what?... ...to do tours with an "existing" program is no USP as long as there exist a community and informations abt it.

To contact Denis, is best done through our Moderator Freddy "Discocandy" Stapersma.

The google email is not exactly the best or fastest channel of communication.

I understand and agree to some level with your comments. It's easy enough to figure it out through google. It's a tricky situation with my boss and a potential competitor in our area. He's just wanting to cover his bases a bit. Let them google all they want. If we can give the look and feel of a custom in house developed application, it will be a little more icing on the cake so to speak. Not to our clients, but to our competitors.

Thanks Tuddi, for the info. I'll look into that further.

Hi the FPP:ContextMenu plugin doesn't remove the "About FPP" line, that's why I state that it's the "safest" Context menu editing plugin.
If you do get permision to remove the "About FPP" line, just contact me and I'll send you a version that removes it for the same price ;)

Ah yes. I hadn't downloaded it. I do see where it's still automaticlly added. (as it should be with such a plugin) I think I had downloaded a previous version or another plugin similar several weeks ago, and it allowed you to remove it. Not good if you're not allowed.

I hope to be able to talk with the developer soon. I have PM'd the Super Moderator to help with that.

Hi tcoursey,

Without starting off a crazy thread of which viewer is better as you can decide yourself, I switched to KRPano several months ago and it offers the ability to buy a license to remove the link back to KRPano for approx 300 Euro plus you can encrypt just the xml files (into the swf) to keep your custom coding from prying eyes.

The owner is regularly answering questions in the forum.

I still use FPP for my older projects and love learning new things but thought I'd chip in so you have more than one option ;)

Good luck,

Andrew

I appreciate your input. I might check it out. We have begun moving forward with FPP right now. The community seems very "active" in development. I'm sure KRPano is very similar. I'll keep it in mind.

Again I appreciate your input. Thanks.
