View Full Version : nadir
Hi,
I am looking for a post or subject which refers to a nadir cap which floats above the nadir area and remains stable to the viewport using the FPP. I have searched this forum using 'nadir', 'cap', 'static' and a few other keywords to no avail. Does anyone remember viewing such a thing in the past? Here or perhaps some other forum? Anyone?
thanks

You are welcome to have a look at the following 2 ways. One is floating, the other one is "glued" to the nadir.

or:
http://flashificator.com/1/FloatingNadirCap1
xml files for those are found here:

and:

 Pretty much, yes.
Tuddi,
Thanks for the reply. Just a question. I notice in the xml files that the primary difference is the use of Spot on 'FloatingNadirCap' and Box on 'FloatingNadirCap1'. In addition there is the use of 'orientation' on the first but not on the second. I'm not quite sure I understand how they work. For example the box I can see how it would work by giving it the value "sphere" and pointed to in Pan and Tilt.
So just leaving out 'orientation' it becomes stuck to the viewport pan and tilt values? I'll play with the editor and see what comes.

Yes, the only difference of importance is box/spot. The orientation is probably from me doing a little too much clicking in FFC.
Tuddi,
Thanks again. I got it now! Also, I wondered where that church was because it had a latin look and with the "Icelander in Peru" it betrays it's location. What City? If you look at the Plaza a little center left it looks like there is a Nymph cavorting on the top of a pedestal! Is that to commemorate something?
The last time I was in a church it was up on an island in the north pacific and it was built by the parishioners in 1918. I was finishing up when one of the overhead bulbs blew and spewed glass all over me. I haven't been in another one since.

:) Yes, I am born and raised up in Iceland (with over 1000 years of roots there), but moved to South America 8 1/2 years ago, after living in the Faroe Islands, Norway and Denmark for 16 or so years.
The Church, is the main Cathedral, and is located in Trujillo, which is in the northern part of Peru (the city of eternal spring-time).
The square you see, is the Plaza de Armas, (main square), and the statue is in remembrance of the "heroes of independence".
here is a low res pano from the plaza:

Glass raining over you in a church... yeah... sounds about right... dangerous places! :)
