Hi
I host my client's 'tours' and put the files for each of client in a subdirectory in my domain and then track this using 'statcounter' where I am able to set up each subdirectory as a project and then give the client a link with a password so they can sign in and see their stats and their stats only.
.
Is this possible with Google analytics does anybody know?
Thanks

Hi,
Of course it's possible with Google analytics. I'm doing it for my clients. Though I found easier to create a subdomain.
Anyway, in Google analytics, simply create a new profile. In this profile, type in the name of your subdirectory; www.mysite/clientfolder.
Don't forget to update/create the script code in the html page that contains the visit.
Now create your client's account and assign it the previously created profile.
To see their stats, your clients would have to go to google analytics and login with the account you created. Or if they aldready have a google account, to can grant permission to their profile instead of creating a new one.
Personaly, I'm sending a pdf report to my customers, as most of them are no tech geeks and get confused in Google analytics.
Hope it helps.

Hi Nidrig
Just looked at your web-site. I have to say I think that your virtual tours in terms of quality, presentation, functionality and ease of use are the best I have ever seen.
Brilliant
So with Google right you have to create a completely new google analytics account for every new client?

hi,
Thanks for the compliments! I'm glad you like the tours. The clients, even happy, don't usually give praise!
Back to google; yes, you have to create a new account for each new customer. Or if the customer already have a google account, add the profile to his/her existing account.

Hey nidrig
Yeah, what I most like about your tours are there're no rough edges. It all looks really professional. Also youve kept it simple but integrated quite sophisticated things like the thumbnail nav bar, hotspots in 3d space attached to the floor, and the image previews on mouse over, but to the average user (i.e 90% of viewers) its all self explanatory of how to use it.
That's the point isnt it. functionality without complication.
Right. I get Google now. Just in process of sorting it all out
cheers for now

Hi Tom
Yeah. I plan to use that. Just got to figure out the basics of analytics first.
Nidrig: Reading the help it days you can use one account and then have different profiles which allow for reporing on just the parts of the site you want and also to give user access only to the parts they're supposed to see,
Isnt this a bit tidier than having a new account for every client
What do you think?

hi Masten,
Maybe I missunderstood you at the first place..
Currently, here is how I work with google analytics and several customers:
1. I have *one* administrator account that I use for myself, to create profiles.
2. for each new client, I create a new profile (eg. www.mysite.com/newClient)
3. for this new profile, I create (or extend) a google account which grants access only to the newly created profile.
Is that what you meant in your last post?
In the long run, this method is painful..a couple of profiles is fine. But now I'm beyond 50 and it becomes tedious to find something.

Hi Nidrig
Right. I think I understand you?
What Im planning on doing at the moment is just creating a new google analytics account for each client (so they each have a different identifier), and then just schedule regular pdf's to be emailed. Not going to bother with giving them access to the account.
Changing the subject to sales/marketing can I ask about how you came across the chalet work?
cheers

Hi Masten,
I'm also sending pdf reports to my customers. Google analytics is way beyond the head of many..
Regarding the marketing question, I've answered per PM.
