Cube faces or qtvr file format ?

Is there any good reason to prefer qtvr file format to jpegs cube faces ?
Or is it simply a question of workflow ?

I prefer cubic faces due to loading, parsing and overall management.... I understand that the sentiment is generally shared by other members here.
