Used to be around 50.000 euros (80.000 dollars)
You probably get a 100 bucks off special as a special offer if you buy 2 at the same time.

Needless to say that is pretty expensive for what it does!!
I guess if you are working on a $200 Million Dollar film
you could put that to us.....
Makes taking a few extra photos seem like nothing at all.....

Well, it is expensive, but it is also a very good tool. Being able to get all measurements from the digital images taken, is probably priceless comfort for architects and others.
... but unfortunately it places the camera outside the economical reach of 99% of those of us who might be interested in getting it.
But maybe something similar (or better) will come on the market in a few years, at a price that doesn't include selling off one's own children along with the children of the neighbours.

I'have seen it ... is a 3d scanner and as Tuddi said it gives back exact measure in every point of the pano, it is used in the restoration of art works, geologic surveys, and ultraviolet photography... the software is fantastic. It is one shot camera, in 3 second you can see the pano on the monitor, about 50Mb.
...too much easy :(

I asked them (it's a German company) about their pricing. The price range is between 15.000 and 55.000 EUR, depending on what configuration you actually chose.
You get 50 megapixels and 26 (!) stops with each pano.
Unfortunately, it's a little bit too expensive at least for me :)

I've also been in contact with them.
My main concern was not the price. But the fact that it takes up to 30 minutes for the camera to shoot and process a scene.
This makes it impossible to shoot scenes with people and some outdoor scenes.

:)
And for only one of your neighbor's kids, you can get the PanoScan:

What I remember...
30 minutes if :
high resolution
“HDR” 32-bit
3D-measurements
3 sec. (x360°) if:
8bit, no "HDR" no 3d-measurements , 20Mb... people included :)

Hi everybody
We have bought (leased) the HDR Spherocam, and must say we are not happy with it. The Camera ist much to slow. In 6 months our payments are finished, and I will give it back to Spherocam. You could keep in Mind: it's a scanner, NOT a one-shot system.
You fannot use it:
- If lightning (like the sun) is changing: it will produce grey vertical stripes in the Panorama
- If people are in the scene: they will move in the 3 / 5 Minutes you need to shoot a panorama.
I'm sure, that the camera can be used for shooting Panoramas for Print, and several other things. But for shooting all kind of costumerpanoramas like hotels, outdoor events and so on... Just forget it!
I've bought the 360Precision, combined with the Nikor 10.5MM and Nikon D200. Stitching isn't a problem anymore with the current PTGUI, and I'm way faster producing HDR images with Photomatrix as the Spherocam could work.
