Hey guys!

http://dimension.w3haus.co.uk

Is a new blog about panoramas techniques!
It teaches how to create 360 panoramas in a easy way using another helper software also free!

After creating and uploading the generated image to Flickr or other Photo Website you can generate a Flash Clip with your panorama by simply passing the URL of your photo!

It generates em "embed" HTML that can be used to post in your blogs or websites with differents sizes and even Fullscreen support!

AS far I see it's really fast in speed matter!

Check this out!!

Too bad that:

* the stitcher they recommend is 1) windows only, and 2) superseded by so many other better stitching apps out there

* it relies on the photographer 1) using lo-res images and 2) trusting a third-party server-side app to display his/her imagery

* it promotes using other people's imagery on your blog or site

* the panorama display w3haus has created is really bad -- even at the highest res in the demo, it's bad.

I guess you get what you pay for! ;)

I read some info about the application...

They're a recent open project so don't expect perfection just now.. Besides they're requesting feedback... Pro's could give some suggestions in order to improve it too...

I think that's good this kind of initiative... Even if the user must rely on other way to host the pictures...
Maybe for professional users it lacks some features... But the first thing is that it have to be easy for the common user...

Besides it's a 3 day work only.. The result is pretty amazing for just 3 days...

Hi cheathamlane, I work at the company that created this viewer. It was done internally very quickly as a fun thing. We donґt pretend to be better than any other paid software out there. We just wanted to share what we developed and make it easy for anyone without special hardware to create their own panoramic images.

As William pointed out, the project was just launched, so your feedback is very welcome! Replying to your comments.

1) Can you recommend other free stiching apps so that we can put them as alternatives to autostitch?

2) This is not a problem, since the goal is to make it easy to put you viewer online. You can host yourself the images if you are not confortable hosting it elsewhere.

3) We donґt promote using other peoples imagery, we only recommend searching for existing images, so you can get a feel of how it works. Weґll make this more obvious and clear this up and also remove the default flickr image.

4) I donґt understand why you think it is so bad. Can you send a comparison viewer with the same image so that we can understand better what you mean?

As I said before, the goal here is to make a simple app so anybody can use, we are open to suggestions to make it even better. This is release 0.1

Hi Alessandro:

Apologies if I came off as a grump... though most of my thinking still stands. I also don't think this is the proper place, really, to be discussing Flash Pano viewers other than FPP. ;)

1) "Free" is the important point there -- I haven't really invested much time in free alternatives to, say, PTGUI (which is the best stitcher out there, IMO).

2) OK!

3) Well, Flickr and Flickr users can set their own usage/licenses, so it may not be an issue. I have recently become a Flickr fan... But Yes, empowering potential users with smart knowledge about copyright and usage is a good thing.

4) FPP is a good comparison, no?. Feel free to see samples at my site or any of the other FPP users' sites out there.

I think your endeavor is a good one -- and it can of course be improved; just like my own endeavors are never finished, whether photographic or Flash Pano related -- and options are also always good, as they help push everyone to improve.

Cheers,
