Hi!
I often want to make VR panoramas without top and bottom (is it called cylindrical?). Will Flash Panorama Player do that if I don't provide "up" and "down" images?
Best regards,
Niklas

Hi Niklas:
You can display cylinders in FPP; I believe you'd need to use the cylinder converter plugin (which comes with FPP).
That said, cubic (or cubical) panoramas are more efficient to display. your stitching software should allow you to output a cubic panorama from your cylinder: it will just have "holes" at the top and bottom.
Then, you can use the FPP Limits plugin to limit the upward and downward tilt.

Sure. If you have a cylindrical image, it will take 4 clicks for you to make it ready for viewing, IF using the free version of Flashificator with FPP, and it will automatically hide the top and bottom holes.
(Still a PC only version)

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but can you use cylindrical panorama jpg images in FPP as it is or do you have to convert it to cubic panorama first?

You can use Cylindrical jpg images without any problems at all.
You can also use Cubical images (6 files).
You can also use Equirectanguar images.
And you can use QTVR .MOV renderings.

Thank you! Then it is exactly what I want. I could not find that information on the FPP information pages.

Hi Niklas:
You don't need to convert it first -- but AFAIK you'll need to use the cylConverter (name ?) plugin so FPP knows it's a cylinder.
Didn't mean to confuse you with my other post -- just wanted to note that cubics are more efficient to deliver (a la the internal algos).
